Midweek premiership preview

After a clean sweep of all five betting tips over the weekend (this is being written from Barbados), we’re rightfully full of confidence as we head towards a rare midweek of Premier League football.
Confidence is not something Harry Redknapp has ever been short of, but even he has conceded that keeping Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League will be the biggest test of his managerial career to date. He starts with a trip to the Stadium of Light and Sunderland. Martin O’Neill has made much of how seven of the Black Cat’s opening 11 fixtures were away from home, but if they repeat the sort of performance that saw West Bromwich Albion smack them on Saturday, he’ll be soon wishing for even more away games.. Harry watched from the stands as Rangers caused Man United a few problems in a 3-1 defeat, and a point should be realistic against a side which has won just once at home in the league since March. A share of the spoils is a 3.45 shot on Betfair.
Tuesday night also sees Reading travel to an Aston Villa side who will be glad to see the back of a run of fixtures that saw them lose to both Manchester sides and draw with Arsenal. Reading’s games have seen plenty of goals this season and they’ve scored in four of their six away from home so far. We would back Villa to come out on top in this one, but at Even money with Ladbrokes there isn’t quite enough value for us. We’ll instead back both teams to score which is an 8/11 shot with Bet365.
Stoke will really fancy their chances against a Newcastle side who are plummeting down the table and barely threatened Southampton in their 2-0 defeat. The Potters have now kept five clean sheets in their six home league games this season, and another has to be value at 13/8 with Ladbrokes.
Following their draw in Wales, Liverpool are on the road again visiting White Hart Lane, seeking their second away win of the season. We like the draw and at 12/5 with Bet365, it is where the value is. A 1-1 draw also looks attractive and is 13/2 with Blue Square.
