Gladiator was launched by Playtech in Feb 2009 – and it’s one awesome slot. It takes a lot from a new slot to impress me becuase there are so many out there now, it’s hard o find something new. But Playtech have hit the jackpot with this one. Two bonus rounds, free spins, multipliers, scatters, extra wilds in the free spins and graphics to die for. The graphics are what hit you first – video symbols lifted from the Gladiator film starring Russell Crowe, although oddly he’s the one character that doesn’t appear in the slot! Cleopatra slot is based on the IGT game of the same name commonly found in Las vegas casinos. It’s a cool game with the bonuses occurring fairly regularly and consisting of 15 free spins with x3 multiplier. Retriggers are allowed during the free spins and I generally expect 30-40x stake back on average. The reels spin in a random order during the free spins for what it’s worth. I find that while it blows hot and cold like all slots, the streaks seem to be a little less. Some of the top wins are a little lower than on other similar games which leads to al longer session generally. Would guess the free spins occur once in every 50 or 60 spins. Wagerworks casinos do not accept US residents at this time.

ISIS is not for the faint hearted, or the poor for that matter, but it can dish out some seriously weighty payouts for the adrenaline junkies. You’ll find it has long cold spells with little action but will then spew out 100 or 200 times your bet in one spin, especially in the free spins. 3 scatters awards 20 free spins with a cool 6x multiplier – I normally look for an average of 12,000 coins off this when playing at max coins. 4 or 5 scatters adds an extra 5 or 10 spins respectively, and 5 scatters awards 400x total bet. Retriggers can happen which is a massive boost and while you need a big bankroll to fully enjoy this slot, it does have some amazing moments. Tombraider is a very cool slot, although expect lots of small/medium size wins and fewer massive ones. The advantage is it keeps you going and suits all types of players. The bonus is 10 free spins at 3x, with 400x total bet for 5 scatters. Graphics and sound are second to none and its very playable. If you play all 15 lines then aim to cashout at 2 or 3 x your deposit rather than aim too high. My tip would be play it at 9 lines with a slightly higher bet. Two types of bonus including a “pick ‘em” style one too.

I can’t start to explain how much I like Thunderstruck! Have done ever since 2004 and suspect that maybe it’s my Quake FPS gaming background. But I dunno – just a guess! Basically, the Thunderstruck slot is the grandfather of free spins slots. While you play for the bonus round for most of the big payoffs, there are some high rewards for 5 of a kind. The “wild” Thor symbol doubles all wins while 5 scatters pays 500x the total bet. The game allows free spin retriggers and the average payout from the bonus round is around 35x total stake, but 100x or more is not that uncommon. 500x stake is about the best I’ve had from the bonus round though more is achievable. I am starting to love Hitman. The slot has 3 different bonuses and perhaps surprisingly the free spins bonus in’t the lucrative one – the “green calculator” bonus is the one you want. The latter awards up to 270,000 coins at max bet and can provide well over 500x on a good one. The graphics and sounds on this slot are superb – arguably the best of any online slot. You may find it seems slow after a while due to the amazing graphic videos, but you can use “quick spin” in the options menu to skip these after you’ve had enough of them.

Aladdin is an RTG Real Series slot. Initially it didn’t make a big impression but the more I have played it the more I like it. The 25 free spins aren’t guaranteed in the bonus – you get to pick 3,4 or 5 lamps and a genie may appear to award them – but it happens more often than not. Slightly frustrating that you get no monetary award for 3 scatters or more, and that they have to be adjacent on reels 1-3 or 3-5, but it is a good slot for regular payouts and of course has a random jackpot. Is now among my favourite RTG slots.
