With a theoretical return to player of 97.6%, Esqueleto Explosivo is a Mexican Day of the Dead themed video slot from Thunderkick with a great sense of humour. Thunderkick are a relatively new games producer from Sweden which at the time of writing only seem to have 8 games.
The game itself features 5 reels and 17 paylines; each reel being a skeleton mariachi band that will sing when a winning combination is achieved. When this happens, the skulls in question explode and new skulls drop into the playing area to replace them. This will continue until there aren’t any more winning combinations.
On top of all that, for each winning combination that you get from an individual spin, the multiplier will double along the bottom of the screen up to a maximum of x32!
A glowing golden skull, with some rather fetching sunglasses, acts as the wild symbol in the game. As an added bonus, after any winning combinations have been taken into account, it will explode, taking out the 8 symbols adjacent to it. It will also increase the current multiplier level.
When we first fired up this slot, we were struck by the sense of fun. Once you get past that though, it’s still entertaining, and with a high theoretical RTP, reasonably easy on your wallet. Whilst there’s no feature/bonus round, the doubling up nature of the multiplier can lead to some large wins if you get a lucky streak on a particular spin.
