City of Gold – Online Slot Review
Enter into the world of the Aztecs and seek your fortune playing Vegas Technology‘s newest video slot… City of Gold.
This new, Aztec themed, 25-line, 5-reel video slot can be played for a penny per line up to $10.00 per line. Having ten paying symbols during regular play, only two of these are needed on a payline to be awarded a win. Those include the Inca golden head-dress & a beaded necklace. All other symbols require a minimum of three on a payline for a win. The golden head-dress is the highest paying symbol of the game and will award you 3,000 coins if five appear on a payline.
The temple symbol is the wild of the game and substitutes for all other symbols (with the exception of the scatter symbol) to help you complete a winning combination.
The scatter symbol of the game is an archway. Two scatters appearing anywhere on your screen will award you double your triggering bet. Three or more scatters will trigger fifteen free spins, each carrying a three time multiplier for your wins. The free spin feature can re-trigger during free spin play.
Beginning with $55.00, I played all 25 lines at five cents per line for a total spin bet of $1.25. The first 19 spins of the reels awarded me no wins at all. On the 20th spin, I was awarded double my bet when two scatters finally appeared. After 61 more spins, for a total of 81 spins, the wild symbol completed a total of seven winning combinations for me, the scatter paid me double my bet eight times and the free spin feature never triggered. I ended play having lost it all.
Nothing about this slot kept my interest. I actually found it boring to play. There were not many winning combinations that appeared at all during regular play… what kept me in play was the scatters paying me double my bet, eight times and the wild completing some wins for me, one being $6.75. Definitely not a slot I would play again.
