Online Casino Worker Held for Accepting Gambling Café Money

Yoshiaki Takahashi, 43, of Hanamigawa-ku, Chiba, has been arrested for allegedly accepting kickbacks from a Kyoto internet cafe owner, with the funds coming from customers who gambled on the casino site Takahashi worked for.

 

“I didnt know the money was part of proceeds from illegal gambling” he was quoted as saying to investigators and has since denied the allegations.

 

Takahashi is accused of receiving 16M yen (roughly $140,760 US) from the Kyoto cafe operator over five different visits last January.

 

The casino site owner has been placed on a wanted list according to Japanese officials.
