X Factor 2014 – Final 8

This entry was posted on Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

We’re down to eight in ITV’s Saturday Night TV offering as Simon, Louis, Mel B and Cheryl whittle the contestants down to see who has got the X-Factor (for the 11th time).

It’s perhaps easier to tell you who won’t be winning. 66/1 shot with Bet365 Stevi is a lovely bloke but has even been mocked by his mentor Simon in recent weeks and his time in the competition must be nearly up. Like Les Dennis, he’s quite entertaining in small doses, but you wouldn’t really want to spend an evening with him and ITV viewers are starting to think the same. He’ll be gone within the fortnight.

Not even One Direction won X Factor and neither of the groups left in this year are remotely close to the level Harry and co reached a few years back. Only The Young (40/1 with Bet365) have already found themselves in the bottom two (back in Week 3), whilst Stereo Kicks (25/1 with Paddy Power) only just survived last week in a sing off with Lola. Both are certain to be gone by the time we get down to the business end of the final three.

Jay James (33/1 with Bet365) hung on for dear life this week, but if Louis had some steel he’d have sent him home rather than Paul. He’s the last of those who simply cannot win it. There’s two male singers besides him who are far stronger in Ben and Andrea and we can’t see where he’d begin to get enough support.

Fleur (5/1 with Ladbrokes), Lauren (9/2 with Bet365), Ben (4/1 with Ladbrokes) all have realistic hopes of usurping hot favourite Andrea (6/5 with Bet365) but they have a tough job on their hands. Andrea has led from the front and been rightful favourite since the start of the live shows. He’ll waltz to the final and we can’t advise a bet against him. Lauren should take second and we imagine Ben will finish third.
