Back Morocco to be the best African team @ 7.4
Having been drawn in a group alongside Spain and Portugal, it is little surprise that despite being the best team in Africa, Morocco are only fourth (ahead of only Tunisia) favourites to go the furthest. However, we remain fairly unconvinced by Portugal’s ageing limbs (surely they used up all their luck winning Euro 2016), and even if Morocco were to only beat Iran, that may still be enough to finish ahead of their continental counterparts.
Denmark to reach the ¼ Finals @ 5.6
The big threat to the Danes marching through to the last eight, comes not in a pretty comfortable group, but rather in the form of last 16 opposition that could include Croatia or Argentina. If either one of them slip up in what is a pretty unpredictable group, the solid Scandis, inspired by Cristian Eriksen, could be the beneficiaries.
Andres Iniesta to win the Golden Ball @ 32
This is the one punt that has pretty much been decided before the tournament has even started – note Messi’s award four years ago despite only scoring one memorable goal. If Spain go far as we believe they will, this bauble is pretty much the last thing left for the man who defined the tika taka generation.
Edison Cavani to win the Golden Boot at 60
The easiest of easy groups, and a very greedy experienced goalscorer who has been in rich form this season for his club. Get right on it.
