World Cup Group Betting: Groups E-H

Group E: Brazil, Switzerland, Serbia, Costa Rica
A good old-fashioned group this one, with a clear favourite, a clear wooden spoon recipient (sorry Costa Rica – you had your fun four years ago), and two sluggish European nations fighting it out to lose to Germany in the last sixteen. The big game will be Serbia vs Switzerland, and we fancy the Eastern Europeans to shade it, in a battle between two ageing sides. 2.2 is the price you will currently find the Serbs to qualify.
Group F: Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea
No prizes for group winners here. Likewise for rock bottom, as South Korea’s predicted rise after their 2002 antics has never materialised. Sweden showed in the play-offs that they can keep anyone quiet for 90 minutes, and we fancy them to pick up a cheeky point against Germany. That being the case, another 0-0 against Mexico should be enough. It wont be pretty to watch, but take the Swedes at 2.46 on the exchange to make it through.
Group G: England, Belgium, Tunisia, Panama
The group of life should see the two European sides win both their matches before the decider. Where we fancy Belgium. Sorry Gareth. Martinez’s boys are 1.82 to win Group G.
Group H: Senegal, Japan, Colombia, Poland
A real mishmash of a group, but one we see as pretty easy to call. Senegal have some decent players on paper, but we suspect could be the African side that opts to fall out over bonuses rather than win matches. Japan have been hopeless for a decade or so now, but we like Cisse’s men to finish rock bottom at 3.6.
