4 to Watch
Brazil vs Chile:
Saturday’s football is a South American special, and the only pity really is that four of the more thrilling sides in the competition will be reduced to one after the quarter finals. That’s football though Clive as Andy Townsend would say, and he should know, having played the game at the highest level. The first tussle is a regular for fans of the World Cup group stage, with Brazil destroying their South American compatriots in 1998 courtesy of Ronaldo and four years ago via Kaka. We fancy them again in this one – it will be tight however. 1-0 Brazil is available at 8.6 with Betfair.
Colombia vs Uruguay:
An impossible match to predict, until we know the Suarez verdict. Will he miss this match? Will he miss the rest of the tournament? Will he face life in jail as Danny Mills has demanded? Interestingly, Colombia spanked Uruguay 4-0 at home in qualifying but lost away. This will be tight, but perhaps James Rodriguez can conjure something in Extra Time. 11.5 at Betfair says Colombia will go through in this method.
Greece vs Costa Rica:
Ah – the tie of the round. It will be Greece. Its always bloody Greece. Back them to win by 1 at Betfair, once the market is set up.
Holland vs Mexico:
The only European side definitely through to date are the Dutch, with van Gaal already showing why Manchester United have lured him to replace the Ferg. We fancy their good run to continue with a 2-0 victory in this one, and that is available at 11.5 with Betfair.
