4 to Watch
The opening two weeks of the Six Nations have reminded us just how engrossing a format it remains. France England on the opening weekend was a thriller, whilst Ireland’s pulverising of Wales the following matchday (and O’Driscoll’s revenge over Warren Gatland) had to be seen to be believed.
With Italy and Scotland destined to lose all remaining fixtures (except presumably against each other,) that leaves this year’s contest boiling down to four matches. And these are those:
21st February 8pm Wales vs France
A packed Millennium Stadium, Wales desperate to make amends after their humbling in Dublin, the French in equal measures unbeaten and unconvincing. We fancy Wales strongly at 1.7 with Betfair.
22nd February 4pm England vs Ireland
Woof! If the result the previous evening goes as expected, this one could well be a title decider. England are still hunting the Triple Crown, Ireland the Grand Slam. It will be tight, no doubt about that, and England to win by <12.5 points seems a sensible bet. The price is 2.46.
9th March 3pm England vs Wales
With Ireland and France winning already this 6Nations weekend, its all set up at Twickenham. And expect Wales strong run against England to continue, all but ending England’s 6Nations hopes.
15th March 5pm France vs Ireland
So it comes to this. Conveniently scheduled as the last fixture of the championship, expect the winner of this showdown in Paris to win the 6Nations. Our tip? Ask us nearer the time…
