4 Bets for the Weekend

We start where it matters, at St James Park (or whatever it is called these days.) Arsenal know a win will guarantee them Champions League football for a record 102nd year in a row and whilst Alan Pardew may have only been joking when he said that he doesn’t mind if his team lose this one 4-0, don’t be too shocked to see the Toon emerge from the tunnel with towels under their arms. Arsenal on form. Newcastle on the beach – back the Cockneys to win both halves at 4.1 with our good friends at Betfair.

And if as we suspect, Arsenal have a firm clench on that match early on, it could affect Tottenham at home to Sunderland. The atmosphere at the Lane may be a little miffed to say the least, and we think that could help the Black Cats bag a late equaliser. The 1-1 is available at 12.5 on the Fair.

Speaking of strange atmospheres, Wigan Athletic will be celebrating a trophy whilst lamenting the loss of relegation, and visitors Villa will be celebrating survival but lamenting the loss of their club captain. Both clubs are carefree at the best of times, but this could be anything. The exchange offer 12 on over 5.5 goals, and we like that a lot.

Finally, Sir Alex bows out at the Hawthorns. After 26 years of ref-abusing, trophy-lifting and above all, late goals, there could only be one punt – United to score last. Get right on it.
