4 to Watch
The pre-season pundits will always select at least two of the promoted clubs, and whilst we don’t love following herds, we suspect they may be bang on this time. Huddersfield will be fun, have a go, but should just fall short. Brighton are doomed however, so the 9/2 Ladbrokes offer on them finishing bottom should be gobbled up. No team with Steve Sidwell anywhere near it, let alone patrolling the midfield, can lay claim to be one of the top 20 in the land. Which leaves one spot, and we suspect it will be between Burnley, Crystal Palace and West Ham United. For a bit of fun however, why not back Tottenham at 1000/1. Apparently a team won the league fairly recently at similar odds, although nobody talks about it.
That team of course were Leicester City, who were good enough to reach the Champions League last eight just seven months ago. Craig Shakespeare has got them going again, and if they follow the Chelsea format of a gap year followed by a year of grind, 7/1 with Ladbrokes on a top 6 finish is a nice punt for us.
We like Lukaku at 4/1 – with the chances United create, even a half-decent centre forward like the big Belgian should still plunder 20 goals. Ladbrokes also offer 100/1 on Kevin de Bruyne, and this Belgian could be a surprise contender. He is a world-class player in waiting, and if City click, this could the year he trily emerges.
Player of the Year:
David Silva is 25/1 with Ladbrokes. Get right on it
