Channel 4 wins rights to broadcast UK horse racing

It was announced this morning that the BBC has lost out on the rights to broadcast the Derby, Royal Ascot and the Grand National. Channel 4 will now be the exclusive broadcaster of horse racing in the UK from 2013 onwards, in what is apparently at least a 4 year deal. I guess this means we’ll be seeing more live odds shown in the adverts between races – that a good thing? Combined with a mobile app, it’s pretty handy if you fancy a punt, but then again, not having any breaks is kinda nice too…

Net Entertainment and Universal sign tie up

Net Entertainment have announced that they’ve signed a deal with Universal to design and make online games based around selected titles from their back catalogue of films. They’ve not announced as yet which films that will be developed, but Net Entertainment have indicated that the first of the games is already in development! This is an exciting development for Net Entertainment, and is one that puts them into the next division of casino software, running alongside the select few major providers who have mainstream licencing deals already in place.
