Bounce, Bounce, Throw…Your Turn.
The LA Lakers have plenty to look forward to this season. After months of procrastination, top center Dwight Howard has finally made the move from Orlando, and he will be a major force inside the painted area. Veteran point-guard Steve Nash has also arrived (this time from Phoenix) and should provide plenty of scoring opportunities for Kobe Bryant.
Oklahoma City Thunder were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Miami in last year’s NBA Final. Few changes were made during the off-season so expect Kevin Durant and company to be the Lakers main challengers.
Other contenders include the San Antonio Spurs, a team with plenty of experience, but lacking an explosive guard who can score heavily, and the Los Angeles Clippers, who with the addition of Lamar Odum from Dallas, should be stronger this time around. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul remain the backbone of Vinny del Negro’s side.
Miami Heat are the worthy favourites. Ray Allen has joined and he will offer great balance alongside LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Back them at 3.3 with Betfair for your slam-dunk bet of the season.
Elsewhere, Chicago Bulls will be without point-guard Derrick Rose, injured until February, so the pressure will be on Luol Deng to carry the team until then.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics could be ready for another crack at the championship. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce know what it takes to win, and with Doc Rivers, they have the best coach in the business.
