Four to Watch – Olympic Weekend #2
This entry was posted on Friday, August 3rd, 2012
Weekend One saw the Queen jump out of a plane, David Beckham drive a speedboat, and a Chinese teenage girl swim faster than Ryan Lochte. None of those three things naturally happened, but here are four things that might do this weekend.
1) He Wenna in the Women’s Trampoline:
There is no bigger cert in these Games than the reigning Trampoline World and Olympic Champion. Almost unbackable at Betfair – if there is any money left however, hoover it up.
2) Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce in the Women’s 100m:
Bolt (see below) will grab the sprint headlines this weekend, but compatriot Fraser-Pryce took her event equally by storm in 2008, and should repeat the feat on Saturday night. The Jamaican is available at 2.4 on Betfair.
3) Olha Saladuha in the Women’s Triple Jump:
The winner in this event for the past two Olympics, Francoise Mbango Etone, isn’t even competing in London, leaving the field wide open for Olha Saladuha, the Ukranian World Champion. 2.74 is a decent price for the lovely leaper.
4) Usain Bolt in the Men’s 100m:
Forget what you read. Forget the rumours. Forget Yohan Blake. This is Usain Bolt we are talking about – the man who simply doesn’t lose races. 2011 was a freak – remember that he was not beaten by Blake but disqualified in the final. And he breezed the 200. Expect to see the famous archer celebration by 9:50:10 on Sunday evening. Lay Blake on Betfair at 2.96.
