FA Cup 2013

You can imagine the formalities between the Manchester City dignitaries with their Wigan counterparts could be quite interesting this weekend. Quite what the multi-million pound Qatari’s and Dave Whelan would chat about ahead of the Wembley meeting remains uncertain, but hopefully the Middle East men will have some good chat about pies and ale and ensure leg breaking remains off topic.
On the pitch Wigan look like they have it all to do, with City a best priced 1/3 with Bet365 to win the game in 90 minutes. We can’t bring ourselves to make a case for Wigan, but we’re not mad on the 1/3 price either, so here are our tips for a Wembley winner.
Manchester City have beaten the Latics to nil in each of their last seven games – a remarkable record. You should be able to get odds of 2.3 on Betfair about them making it eight and giving how tight City have been of late we think it’s a real possibility.
None of the last three FA Cup Finals have seen more than three bookings and we can’t imagine this one will either. The styles shouldn’t see an overly combative game, whilst their League games this season had two and three bookings respectively. Three bookings or less is an 8/11 shot with Bet365.
If ‘real stats’ aren’t for you then just go with the side wearing blue, for that colour shirt has won the last six FA Cup Finals. Man City won the toss to wear blue on Saturday. At least Wigan have got the Europa League to look forward to.
