4 to Watch – Final Weekend of the Olympics
This entry was posted on Friday, August 10th, 2012
Expect to hear the words, “and don’t forget, we still have the Paralympics to come,” pretty frequently over the weekend. And whilst those ten days or so in September will provide some wonderfully uplifting stories, it won’t fill the enormous void left by the disappearance of Bolt and co (although kindly some Cameroonian athletes have decided to hang around the UK that little bit longer.)
Here are 4 ways to make some moolah before the flame is extinguished.
1) Mexico to win the Men’s Football Gold:
Ignore the hype around Neymar, Oscar and the rest. This Mexican team have been together a while, and were the connoisseurs’ tip for the Gold at the start of the tournament. The sombrero-wearers are available at an outstanding 4.2 with Betfair.
2) Jamaica to break the 4x100m world record:
There is very little value in backing the Jamaicans to win gold (unlike the UK and US, they tend not to drop the baton), but at 2.46 to break the world record, there is some value in the race. Surely Usain won’t leave London without setting one new WR, and with Blake and Weir for company, he won’t be alone.
3) USA to win the Men’s Basketball Gold:
For fans of free money, have some courtesy of Betfair at 1.07.
4) Ramazan Sahin to win the Men’s 66kg Freestyle Wrestling Gold:
Because let’s face it, you’re never going to get another chance to have a bet on a wrestling match.
