4 For the Weekend (17 December 2011)

Premier League Preview.

Stoke travel to Wolves on Saturday afternoon, as the only English club to have advanced from the Europa League Group Stages, and we think their fans will have more to cheer this weekend. Having won three on the bounce in the League, Pulis’s men will be hopeful of beating a Wolves side who haven’t kept a Premier League clean sheet since August. Whilst Wolves have won their two previous home matches (v Wigan / Sunderland), we still like 1-0 Stoke at 17/2 with Bet365.

Fulham were fifteen seconds away from joining Stoke in the latter stages of Europe, but like David Cameron, left at the last minute. We reckon Bolton may prolong a frustrating week for Fulham and this game appears to have a draw written all over it. In particular we like the 1-1 at 8.2 with Betfair.

Wigan welcome a rejuvenated Chelsea to the DW Stadium for the late Saturday kick-off and we can only see one winner. Chelsea have answered their critics with three consecutive victories against Newcastle, Valencia and Manchester City, whilst Wigan have struggled at home, picking up just one point from their last five league matches at the DW. Chelsea should cruise to victory and are 6/5 with Blue Square on the -1 Handicap market, which looks terrific value.

We’re expecting goals at Ewood Park as Blackburn have failed to keep a clean sheet at home this season, whilst West Brom haven’t had a shut-out in any of their last six on their travels. We think there is some value in the the 2.98 you can get on Betfair for over 3.5 goals to be scored.
