Let's have it right. If you are willing to put your money backing Stoke FC, you're not a gambler, you're a masochist.

Beats me why UKIP talk big but do little. Don Gordo Bruno Quixote El Moron
should be calling them the do nothing party.

With the money they have access to, I'd bring a civil action in the High Court against the Rt Hon Gordon Brown PM and The charming rogue but equally culpable ex PM Tony Blair for high treason for the calculated damage and destruction they inflicted on England .Anarchy is what these two Scotsmen practised and settled the 300 year old score with England.

Sterling Brookes gives me a buzz by bringing back nostalgic moments of many a carefree days of fun and plenty. One memory triggers another, and Cheltenham for me says Henry Alper and Persian War, winning the champion hurdle. And how many remember the legend of the fight between Mill House and Arkle? Good on you Sterling. Keep bringing back the treasured memories when legends were made.thank you.

Rummy was my Dad's favourite and I only remember the last race as I was 5 at the time. I've done well over the years on the National. It's part of Britain's treasured institutions, even greater than The Derby. I'll be sat in front of the TV at race time as ever hoping one of the 3 I've backed wins and all of them place. Could so do with a Red Rum ghostly message on who will win though.

Perhaps it was the touch of magic and the romance about the horse, that make up the fairey storry; trained in a backstreet yard by Ginger McCain and coming out to beat the lot of them on the day. Red Rum reminds me of Mill Reef as a beautiful athlete full of spirit.

I just loved Red Rum, if it wasn't for L'escargot in 76 perhaps he'd have won 4 Grand Nationals. There have been other great race horses, but no one has ever captured the public's imagination or love as much as Red Rum.

Foinavon was amazing, but my worst/best moment was when Last Suspect the oldest horse in the race and a 50-1 shot had overtaken and beat Mr Snugfit twenty years ago when I had the West Ham colours horse backed a few hundred pounds each way at 25-1 right down to 8-1 second favourite versus West Tip who disowned Richard Dunwoody that year as the favourite at Bechers Brook. Still won a packet and was at Aintree that day, but boy if Snugfit had one I'd have been on cloud nine!
