The What On Earth slot game from Microgaming is arguably the best of the "bonus slots" that don't have free spins. The feature round, trigerred by 3 or more scatters lined up adjacent to one another on any payline, is actually pretty entertaining and can be quite lucrative with up to 400x the triggering bet on offer. More often than not you get far less, but because it's a fairly low variance slot, with fewer symbols than many other 5 reelers, What On Earth does have a tendency to keep you going for much longer than most other 5 reel slots. It used to be among my favourites and probably still would be if I hadn't overkilled on it back then! For more data check out the Stats and Screenshots on the Slotjunkies the What On Earth page.
The following online casinos all have the What On Earth Slots game.
Review: Voted "Best Online Casino" in the Casinomeister awards in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, so no surprise that 32Red casino is the benchmark. 32Red's treatment of players is better than most other online casinos and while the signup bonus could be more generous, the invite-only "Club Rouge" VIP program rewards loyal players with a variety of extras each month including a bigger monthly bonus. Unusually, 32Red online casino (and poker room) can process cashouts to credit cards if required, a welcome addition to the many other banking options. There are stacks of games & an autoplay and "expert mode" (strategy) function for certain games. One of the few online casinos where loyal players feel valued and where I spend most of my gambling time. A download and flash casino is available and the download version now includes Microgaming's excellent slot tournaments section. The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
Review: A new Microgaming online casino operated by the folks at the excellent (and in my opinion preferable) Roxy Palace. Uses the Microgaming Viper platform and consequently has a huge number of games and great user-friendly interface complete with autoplay and expert mode for strategy. Good range of banking options, though a 48 hour reverse withdrawal period means cashouts to NETeller can take 3 days which is too slow in my opinion. Otherwise, Splendido is a very safe and reputable casino with good monthly promotions. The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
Review: USA focused riverboat themed online casino from the reputable Belle Rock stable. I also found a unique River Belle branded slot machine called the "Belle Rock Slot" as an extra, which is identical in features to the popular Thunderstruck slot (also present) with it's 15 free spins/all wins trebled bonus feature! Being Belle Rock, there are no problems getting paid promptly, although I found Belle Rock online casinos (which also boasts Lucky Nugget, Jackpot City and the oldest of the online casinos in The Gaming Club) support slow at 8-12 hours compared with many of the smaller independent casinos listed here - polite enough, but I'd like to see it improved. That said I received our first cashout on a Saturday, following a Friday cashout, as they process winnings 7 days a week (after the reverse time prior to processing had expired obviously) The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
Review: Jackpot City casino carrys all the major card games, slots and video pokers from Microgaming in an intuitive interface and is now focused towards the UK market, although Europeans and USA players are accepted. All the big Progressive Jackpot games are here and it's probably no coincidence that Jackpot City Casino has a history of players winning the big jackpots. Part of Belle Rock Entertainment, support response could be improved but that said, you do get monthly bonus offers & Belle Rock do have a reputation for treating their high stakes players particularly well. Jackpot City also has casino software in Italiano, Francais, Deutsch and Espanol but seems very popular with US players in particular. You can also select a different cashout option each time you withdraw which is a nice touch. The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
Review: Phoenician casino used to be renowned for its excellent support whilst it was on the RTG platform, although it has since switched to the more popular Microgaming Viper software bringing with it "auto-play" and "auto-hold" ("expert mode") and a wider choice of games. Phoenician and it's sister casino, Nostalgia, were the first to introduce instant NETeller cashouts but these were removed from Phoenician following the switch from RTG. There are still a handful of Microgaming casinos that offer instant NETeller withdrawals - click here for more info. Phoenician is a popular online casino in the USA and the decision to review the software was an inspired decision. Note there is also a $4k weekly cashout limit until you become a VIP (an anti-fraud measure apparently). The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
Review: Lucky Nugget is part of the well regarded Belle Rock online casinos group. It's on Microgaming, so it has over 300 games and also offers monthly 100% match loyalty bonuses. Note that the first deposit bonus needs to be claimed within 72 hours of signing up or it is forfeited. Withdrawals are processed the day after requesting your cashout and unusually Lucky Nugget does cashouts at weekends too. The support response is slower than many (8 hours for me) and they don't alow cashouts back to a credit card, although they do give you plenty of other options. Support aside, Lucky Nugget was pretty good all-round, although UK and Europeans may find 32Red which has the same games, more suitable. It is probably among the most popular online casinos with Americans however. The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
Review: Gaming Club was the original online casino and running on the excellent Microgaming software (also with a Japanese language option) is still a leader in the market today. Run by the Belle Rock Group, The Gaming Club is one of only a few online casinos who allow you to specify different withdrawal options every time you cash out, and they process cashouts 7 days a week - again quite unusual as most do Mon-Fri only. Over 300 games to suit all players from bonus slots to Blackjack, video poker to keno and stacks of options inbetween. Think of a game - it's probably here! The one area that let Gaming Club down IMO was the support response - not as quick as I'd like and not a great reply. Otherwise - a popular casino. The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
Review: Ruby Fortune (which no longer takes players from the US states of Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington or Wisonsin) is the excellent sister casino to Spin Palace, both very popular Microgaming casinos. One of the great selling points about Ruby is their willingness to flush withdrawals ahead of the pending period to ensure prompt processing. Nice to see their support is fast too and, using Microgaming software the casino now has auto-play and auto-hold features of course. With it's modest (read "average") bonus, it is a good choice for the newbie looking to play in safe hands with a vast array of games (including all the big name ones) and a tiered cashback program rewarding loyal players. Has good support on the forums from players too which is always a good sign of a decent online casino. The casino accepts the following banking options: Credit and Debit cards.
